Metal theft is a national problem. The Panel have provided funding and equipment to a number of organisations and individuals to assist in the reduction and detection of this type of crime. Equipment such as forensic marking systems in several different formats has been provided.

The posters have been distributed to landlords who's properties are empty and who have complied with requests from the Police to remove the items that are being targeted and utilised the marking schemes.
